How to Choose the Right Products for Your Wix Print-on-Demand Store?

Choosing the right products for your Wix POD store is crucial for your business’s success.

Factors to Consider for Product Selection

Here are some factors to consider:

  1. Target Audience: Understand the needs and preferences of your target audience. If your audience is young and trendy, they might prefer products like graphic tees or tote bags.
  2. Design Compatibility: Choose products that are compatible with your designs. For instance, intricate designs might not print well on smaller products like mugs or phone cases.
  3. Profit Margin: Consider the cost of the product and the price at which you can sell it. Products with a higher profit margin can contribute significantly to your revenue.

My recommendation: Choose the most common products that people want to wear or keep in their house forever.

How to Price Your Products in a Wix Print on-Demand Store?

Pricing your products correctly is crucial for your Wix POD store’s profitability. Here are some tips to help you price your products:

  1. Cost of Goods: Consider the cost of the product, printing, and shipping. Make sure to cover these costs in your product price.
  2. Competitor Pricing: Look at how similar products are priced in other POD stores. You don’t want to price your products too high or too low in comparison.
  3. Value Perception: Consider how much your target audience is willing to pay for your products. The perceived value of your products can greatly influence their price.

Marketing your Wix POD store

Marketing is a crucial aspect of running a successful Wix POD store. Here are some best practices to help you market your store effectively:

  1. Social Media Marketing: Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest are excellent for marketing POD products. You can create engaging posts featuring your products and use relevant hashtags to reach a wider audience.
  2. Email Marketing: Collect email addresses from your website visitors and send them regular newsletters featuring your latest designs, special offers, and more.
  3. SEO: Optimize your Wix store for search engines to attract organic traffic. Use relevant keywords in your product titles and descriptions.
  4. Ads: Running an ad for your new store can be a good idea if you have the budget for testing.

How to Make $1000 with Wix Print on Demand?

This section will guide you through an exact way to make money with Wix Print on demand. If you follow this with creativity and add your own twist to the method then you can be almost certain of making money.

Also, you need to be very sure about your profit margins when running such a business, as you can’t sell simply designed t-shirts at $100/shirt, the most you can charge per t-shirt is $30 when you have found a winning design.

As I have been experimenting with print-on-demand for the last 6 years I came to the conclusion that there are only two methods of making the most money in such a business.

Method 1: Sell what’s Trending in the market

As you may have already heard about starting with a niche, say you have decided to choose Cat Parents as your niche market, now you cannot sell anything unrelated like a dog t-shirt in your store.

So, in this case, you would want to sell what’s trending in the market, for example, as of July 2023 Women’s football world cup is trending, so you would want to sell a design that is a combination of both Cats and Football world cup.

This would make you viral and can help you go viral with the trend and would help you make money with your design.

You see the above design is print-ready design and can be found on Vexels.

If you’re serious about print-on-demand, I highly recommend leveraging Vexels.

With Vexels you’ll gain exclusive access to thousands of trendy designs and artworks covering almost every niche. Plus, enjoy a special 25% OFF on your annual subscription.

Vexels not only saves you time but also increases your chances of sales, as their designs are thoroughly researched and tailored to target specific audiences.

Method 2: Sell Festival Clothing

Selling festive clothing doesn’t mean you’re going to avoid choosing a niche, for the best results choosing a niche is highly recommended.

For example, as the 4th of July just passed assuming you choose Cat Parents as your target niche market, hence you would want to create a design that caters to this audience + everyone celebrating Independence Day.

You can see from the design above this caters to both audiences and is a perfect fit for anyone who is a proud American cat parent.

Also, the above design and hundreds of similar designs can be found on Vexels and again I highly recommend Vexels if you are serious about making money with Wix Print-on-demand.

Just so you know especially for our readers at Ink Inquirer, Vexels is giving 25% off the annual plan.

We recommend getting the Vexels MERCH PLUS plan as that comes with maximum benefits and one such cool benefit is requesting 4 personalized designs for your needs.

Vexels will save you up to 100 hours in finding, researching, and testing a perfect design that suits your target market.

The key to successfully selling lies in understanding people’s needs and creating emotionally compelling artwork that resonates with those needs.

Emotions play a crucial role in driving sales, so aim to create designs that evoke powerful emotions.

Now that you’re equipped with the knowledge to make money with Wix POD, let’s delve deeper into the process of marketing and selling your designs.

How To Market Your Wix POD Store To Become Certain of Making Money?

Honestly, there is no certain way or best way as every way is about testing. Finding a winning product is not the only crucial thing you need to do to make money with Wix Pod, there is no use for your product if it gets no eyeballs and no sales.

Before Getting Started Keep This in Mind

“Positioning should be decided before the advertising is created.”

— David Ogilvy

This means you need to be very clear about which audience you are going to target before you create any design.

If you are saying that I don’t have an audience, then I recommend creating one and then selling them something relatable, if you are a Cat Parent yourself and you have an audience related to Cats on any of the Social Media and then you sell a cat design by any of the above-described methods then you can almost guarantee yourself making money as long as the product sold is good.

Marketing Method 1: Build an Audience (It’s FREE)

Building an audience is no longer about posting daily on your preferred social media channel, yes it is about consistency but also about the quality of content.

Here are a few steps that I recommend for building an audience

Step-1: Focus on a Single Platform but be everywhere.

This means you should be present everywhere but the content should be relevant to each platform.

For example, You cannot post a funny cat video on LinkedIn.

Hyperfocus on one platform and then repurpose your content everywhere, You know TikTok is quite popular here in the USA but with that Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts are also popular.

So you create content for Tik Tok and by using a tool like Ocoya or Hootsuite you can upload the same video on both Instagram reels and YouTube Shorts without lifting a finger.

As you know each platform has its own relevant hashtags, titles, and descriptions that you can add with the relevant tool.

Step-2: Create Targeted Content

One of the most popular Youtube channels that I like is Mini Katana, if you see and observe all their content is niche-relevant and targeted to sell their Katana on their online store.

Think about yourself, and what you can do based on what you have right now, think about the leverage that you have in your life that other people don’t.

Step-3: Keep Testing & Tweaking Your Content

Understand if you don’t test you will never find the one that leads to success. This reminded me of this quote,

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

— Wayne Gretzky

Once you find the one piece of content that goes viral, you should figure out what made it go viral then you just rinse and repeat.

Marketing Method 2: The Ad Route (Requires Investment)

Do not jump on this method if you are afraid to lose some money at the beginning. As ads cost money it is not always a guarantee that you will be profitable from day 1 when running an ad.

But if you have some experience, you can be profitable from day 1 too don’t panic I am going to reveal things that I learned from experience.

So there are only two strategies to run ads, both are easy and can give quick results if you have done some testing.

Strategy 1: The Search Intent

In this, you run ads on search engines like Google, Yahoo, or Bing based on where your relevant audience can be found in maximum numbers.

You bid on keywords that are based on the intent of the searcher and with your ads you try to fulfill that intent.

For example: If I am searching for the Best Cat Parent T-shirt for Independence Day, and if I see your ad at the top with the design shared earlier then I am most likely to make a purchase from you.

As I had an intent when I made the search and your ad fulfilled it with exactly what I was looking for.

This is the most profitable approach assuming you have found the relevant keywords for your business.

I recommend a tool like SEMrush for finding niche-relevant keywords for your ads, it costs $129.95/month certainly not on the cheap side but it is recommended for the most profitable results.

If you don’t want to use SEMrush, you can use Google Ads Keyword Planner as well but in this case, you will not get the exact search volume for your keywords.

I believe in any online business, the one thing you need the most is data, for accurate data you must and should use SEMrush.

Strategy 2: The Media Buyer

You buy ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, and YouTube.

This is similar to the organic way of marketing but instead, you pay for it, the people you target have no intent of buying the product but you make your ads enticing enough that they eventually buy it.

In this, you target the audiences that are interested in a specific thing like people who are cat parents and are interested in celebrating Independence Day.

For such an audience you create an ad creative which makes the people curious to buy your design on your Wix POD store.

I would say you should use a service like PlaceIt for the mockups of your designs and ad creatives.

In my experience, the most profitable social media is Pinterest, but when you are trying to scale you can use Facebook & Instagram for a slightly less ROI.

You may know, that covering the basics about each Social media platform is not the right idea, hence I would say why don’t you watch some videos on YouTube to cover your basics?
